Paypal confirm identity email8/12/2023 ![]() ![]() If you receive one of these spoof emails from someone pretending to be PayPal, report it by forwarding the email to and we'll investigate it for you." Reliable institutions won’t ask you to share sensitive personal information this way, so don’t open any attachments or click on any links. They do this in an effort to get you to share personal information. Fraudsters often develop official-looking emails with links that supposedly lead to a familiar website. For instance, be especially careful about clicking on links within emails. "One way to protect yourself is to use caution when you’re online. I'm on hold w/ their service center now & the auto-voice is talking about NOT responding to suspicious emails. It looks like a phishing email, but really is from PayPal. ![]() This email from PayPal violates everything they have said & continue to say about secure communication. I would also like to see if anyone possibly has an answer to why, when I click to have my identity verified online, it says my information cannot be verified, despite the information being exactly correct (My SSN, Phone number and home address).Yes, I received it too. I would like to see if I could get some information on what I can possibly do to push this process on a little quicker. I then veryfied some security questions about things from 10 years+ from my past (That was a blast from the past, for real). I've given the site my Drivers Lisence, my Bank Statement, my phone Number and my SSN. Seriously, why can't I just call PayPal and give them the information they need? There are much MUCH simpler ways to do this. Why is PayPal's verification system so exhaustive and thorough? I could understand this sort of system if I was getting a background check for a government job GUARDING THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.įor crying out loud, you seriously need to have my SSN veryfied in a way that is sensitive to years of personal back-data? Why? What does this have to do with simply verifying that I am the bloody person that I say I am? Well that's perfect!! Except for one thing - PayPal's verification system is so complicated and convoluted and deeply rooted and long-winded and freakn freck! I am so frustrated!! In any case, my notification actually says that if I were able to confirm my identity I could receive my funds RIGHT NOW. ![]() I hope he gets it and goes to his PayPal account quickly. ![]() I sent him an email and haven't received a response. Then said that if I contact the person who sent the funds to me, I should be able to get the wait time down to 3 days by telling him to go to his notification and select "confirm" or something. He also was able to do some shenanigans to get the hold time down to 7 days instead of 21. This person was able to find a few issues, such as my bank account not being fully confirmed. I was a bit upset about this, so I called PayPal and talked with a representative about the issue. I figured this had to be a mistake, there is no reason to hold my money hostage until you get what you want. However, PayPal put my funds on hold and has the money "Pending" for 21 days. I figured I would have the funds before the market opens again on Sunday evening. I wouldn't normally talk about this, but it's important to the reason why I am coming to the forums to ask others for help - I received the $500 from a family member that wants me to use the funds to trade currency. I just got an account yesterday and the reason I got a PayPal account was to receive funds from my family member. ![]()
